RFID labels enable completely new applications in the logistical environment, for example for inventories and the tracking of objects.

Baggage Tags

RFID baggage tags enable the capture, tracking and, above all, the search for pieces of luggage by radio. For decades, baggage tags have mainly been using barcode technology.

RFID labels for industry, logistics and trade

Hummel Print has been producing a variety of different labels for many years, which are mainly used in logistics, industry and retail. We have recognized the trend towards RFID labels and of course included them in our product range.

RFID labels enable completely new applications in the logistics environment, for example in inventory and tracking objects. The question of where is which object with an assigned identity, in what condition and at what time can be answered with RFID. With suitable RFID readers, this type of label can be detected reliably and, above all, quickly by radio over a distance of several meters. Especially with large quantities of objects to be recorded, the speed of recording by radio is significantly superior to recording individual barcodes using barcode scanners. The passive RFID inlays do not have their own power supply but receive it from the radio waves emitted by the reader.

We are happy to offer you RFID labels in the form of hanging or adhesive labels, with barcodes, with chip programming or simply as pure blank labels.

When selecting the inlays to be used, we work closely with the manufacturers established on the market in order to offer you the best solution for your process.

Some examples from our portfolio:

RFID labels with an embedded inlay between the upper and carrier material

RFID cardboard labels with attached inlay z. B. RFID Kanban labels

The product range includes all requirements for the automated and manual check-in and handling of passengers, baggage and cargo, e.g. B. Boarding passes, luggage tags, interline tags, etc.

RFID-Baggage Tags

The RFID technology for detecting and controlling objects is spreading all over the world. RFID baggage tags enable the recording, tracking and, above all, the search for pieces of baggage by radio. For decades, barcode technology has mainly been used for baggage tags. The IATA has examined the advantages of RFID baggage tags and made a clear statement for this technology and its advantages. One positive effect of adopting the technology would be to improve the rate of lost baggage per 1,000 passengers, which continues to be a major cost to the airline industry year after year. In a study, IATA estimates the cost savings potential at more than USD 3 billion.

But the database obtained through RFID baggage tags also offers great potential for future planning of baggage transportation at airports. Passive RFID inlays, integrated in baggage tags, can be used without any problems and their application has been specified accordingly by the IATA.

Hummel Print knows the exact requirements for RFID baggage tags. We would be happy to support you with our know-how.

In the following videos you can see examples of the quick registration of baggage items that have previously been equipped with RFID baggage tags, as well as the search for a previously registered piece of baggage using an RFID handheld scanner.

During production, we of course pay attention to the applicable standards and check the quality in the production process with appropriate measures.
